What is the process for reserving a villa?After you have decided on your dates and checked availability (on-line or by calling the office), please call our office so we can get the information to work up your rental agreement. We will send you the rental agreement and you then have 7 days to sign the agreement and return it to us with the 50% deposit. After we receive the 50% deposit — your reservation finalized. The balance and a refundable security deposit of $1000 payable 60 days prior to your arrival (90 days prior for holiday reservations). The security deposit is returned within 14 days after departure if there are no damages or missing items at the villa. What are the services of the full-time staff?Your stay at Villa Azul Pacifico includes a staff of a cook, maid, and houseman to take care of all of the cleaning, cooking, shopping, and bartending. They will prepare Breakfast and Dinner daily plus snacks. (except Sundays and Holidays unless prior arrangements are made). You will select the menu and reimburse the staff for the cost of groceries. Cash or travelers checks please. Receipts will be provided. Please be sure to send your guest pre-arrival information that you receive after final payment is made, to ensure that your preferences are relayed to the staff. What travel documents do we need to travel to Mexico?Upon entering and leaving Mexico, you will need a passport. Children under 18, traveling without both parents, will also need a notarized affidavit for permission to travel. You will be given a tourist card by the airlines, which will need to be completed prior to arrival in Mexico and must be turned in upon leaving Mexico. Arrival information and transportation to the Villa?We will send you a pre-arrival information packet for Azul Pacifico which includes general information on Puerto Vallarta. We can also arrange for private transportation to and from the airport for you and your guests, the cost depends on the size of your group but is approximately $20 per person paid direct to the driver. How do I get around Vallarta?Typically guests take taxis to town or other destinations as they are inexpensive and easy to use. You will receive instructions to give cab drivers to get back to the villa. If you wish to take a trip to an outlying area our staff is happy to help arrange a driver for your day-trip. If you would like to rent a car we can help with that as well. What is the average temperature?Temperature average around 80 degrees year round, but humidity and chances of rain at night increase from June through October. Light, comfortable, casual clothing is recommended. What time is check in and check out?Check out time is 11:00 a.m. - check in time is 3:00 p.m. We will make every effort to accommodate an early arrival or late departure, but when there are other guests arriving or departing on the same day we will be unable to deviate from our policy. What can we expect at the villa when we arrive?We will send you an arrival package after your final payment is made (60 days prior to your departure) to arrange your food requests, as well as transportation to and from the airport. Our staff will greet you with chips, salsa, guacamole and margaritas upon your arrival. Our house manager (American) will also greet you at the villa to give you an introduction to the property and answer any questions you may have. Grocery shopping is usually arranged before you arrive, so your preference of food and drinks will be stocked. We can also assist you with any other special arrangements such as birthday surprises, anniversaries, etc. The villas are always stocked with bath towels, linens, etc. What is the currency?Mexico currency is called the peso. Most businesses will accept payment in United States dollars, so there is no need to exchange money before leaving the states. Many say it is wise to carry travelers checks instead of cash, although you may need a supply of $1 bills for tipping. ATM's are available and credit cards are widely accepted and you will get the best exchange rate by using them. U.S. coins are not accepted in Mexico. What is included in the rate?The rates are per night for the entire villa and also includes service of the staff (except on Sundays and holidays). Cost of food and beverage is not included in the rate. You can reimburse the staff on a daily basis for food and beverage costs and any other trips they make to the store (receipts will be provided). Gratuities for the staff are also not included. Rates are subject to change without notice. Aren't villas more expensive than a hotel?As you explore the villas we represent you'll see that most villas are often much less than prices at hotels and truly don't compare... even to 5 star hotels. When you factor in a full private staff and all the benefits and amenities that a Azul Pacifico offers, you'll quickly realize that villas offer a superb value for your vacation dollar, not to mention we guarantee you won't find lower rates booking any other way. (Remember to compare rates per room/per night). What form of payment do you accept?We accept personal check, cashiers check, Money Order (payable to Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals) or Bank Wire Transfer (we will provide you with instructions for your bank officer). What about tipping in Mexico?Gratuities is always optional, however tipping of the staff is customary in Mexico and always appreciated as most workers depend on tips for a large portion of their income. We are frequently asked how much to tip and have established a guideline that may be of help to you, $10.00 - $15.00 US per guest, per day, seems to be the average. Taxi drivers regularly include tipping charges in their fee you do not have to tip the taxi drivers. Can you drink the water?Villa Azul Pacifico has a water purification system for all the water in the Villa. The staff typically always purchases bottled water for guests. The staff uses purified water for ice, cooking, and food preparation. You can purchase acidophilus tablets to aid in the restoration of normal, healthy, intestinal bacteria. You should be able to find this in your local drug or health food store for approximately $5 for 100 tablets. What are your payment and cancellation policies?An initial 50% deposit with your signed rental contract is required within 7 days to confirm your reservation. Check, money order, or wire transfer are methods of payment. The balance of the rental rate and a refundable security deposit of $1000.00 is due 60 days prior to arrival (90 days for holiday reservations). Full refunds (less a 20% service charge) if you cancel before your balance is due (60 or 90 days prior). Holiday reservations require a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit at time of booking. If you cancel after your final payment has been paid, we will make every effort to re-book the property for the dates you had reserved. Whatever rent is re-booked will be refunded to you minus a 30% service charge. We recommend our guests to buy Travel Insurance which is fairly inexpensive. We can give you a few companies to contact for Travel Insurance. What types of activities are available in Puerto Vallarta?There are a multitude of activities to choose from including golf, fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, snorkeling, diving, shopping, dining, dancing, horseback riding, spa treatments at the villa, jungle tours, tequila tasting, etc. etc. Our houseman Mike would be happy to assist you in making these arrangements Does the villa have telephone, high speed internet and satellite TV?Yes, we have a local Mexican line for local calls and a Vonage line for free long distance calls to anywhere in the U.S. The villa also has wireless high speed internet with 3 extra routers throughout the villa for great reception. Azul Pacifico has a top of the line, unsurpassed satellite TV system with separate satellite boxes (U.S. Satellite TV – not Mexican) in 8 different rooms. What if I don’t speak any Spanish?Our houseman Lino speaks very good English and will be able to answer questions and get make sure your meal preferences are attended to, activities are coordinated, taxi’s called, etc. Our house manager Mike is American and will drop by periodically to make sure everything is wonderful with your stay and he also is a wonderful concierge can set up any kind of activity, reservation, or make any recommendations for you. Most taxi drivers and service staff in local areas speak some English. If you don’t speak Spanish… don’t worry, you will be fine.
